At SPUN, we envision a future where human societies and ecosystems coexist in harmony. To achieve this vision, we prioritize decolonizing science by centering the well-being of most affected people and areas in our research. We strive to address biases in mycorrhizal science and promote diversity in our team and partnerships.

We work collaboratively with researchers and local communities to accelerate efforts to protect underground ecosystems that have been largely absent from conservation and climate agendas. Our research has been cited in leading press and scientific journals, and we continue to push the frontiers of fungal biology from the micro-level to the global scale.
