SEO-Focused Website Component Developer
Job Overview
I’m looking for a Webflow expert with strong SEO knowledge to help build several key components for a meal prep business website. This project requires working with free Webflow templates while ensuring all elements are fully SEO-optimized from an on-site HTML perspective for Google indexing and ranking.
I recorded a Loom video explaining exactly what I need:

The key focus areas include:
An SEO-friendly, indexable navigation menu with a hover-activated dropdown
A structured, properly marked-up carousel slider for meal items
A multi-location selector component with semantic HTML and structured data
If you have Webflow development experience and strong knowledge of technical SEO including semantic HTML, structured data, crawlability, and indexing best practices, I’d love to collaborate with you.
Project Scope and SEO Considerations
- SEO-Optimized Navigation Menu
Goal: Ensure that Google can crawl and index all navigation links even when the menu is collapsed.
Best Practices for Navigation and Dropdowns:
✅ Wrap the menu in a proper nav element for search engines.
✅ Ensure all links are inside anchor tags to be fully indexable.
✅ Dropdown links must remain in the HTML at all times even when collapsed.
✅ Use CSS visibility hidden instead of display none to keep dropdowns indexable.
✅ Implement ARIA attributes including aria-expanded and aria-hidden for accessibility.
✅ Ensure internal linking structure is optimized to distribute SEO value across all pages.
Dropdown Behavior:
On desktop: Expand on hover, while keeping links crawlable.
On mobile: Expand on tap, ensuring sub-links remain in the HTML source and are not dynamically inserted.
- SEO-Optimized Webflow Carousel Slider
Goal: Implement a fully indexable, structured, and accessible carousel that Google can crawl.
Best Practices for Indexability:
✅ Ensure all meal items are present in the HTML at page load to prevent JavaScript-only lazy loading issues.
✅ Wrap each meal in semantic section elements.
✅ Use proper headings for meal names, paragraph tags for descriptions, and alt attributes for images.
✅ Implement Schema.org structured data for meal items.
Example fields meals:
"name": "Grilled Chicken with Quinoa",
"image": "yourwebsite.com/images/grilled-chicken.jpg",
"category": "Healthy"
✅ Carousel Behavior:
Show four meals at a time on desktop and one meal at a time on mobile.
Ensure infinite looping without duplicate content issues.
Include visible navigation buttons for usability and accessibility.
- SEO-Optimized Multi-Location Selector Component
Goal: Ensure each location is indexable while providing a user-friendly switching experience.
Best Practices for Multi-Location SEO:
✅ Each location should have a dedicated, crawlable URL, such as example.com/location/denver.
✅ Implement structured data for local SEO to enhance search visibility.
Example fields for locations:
"@context": "schema.org",
"@type": "LocalBusiness",
"name": "Meal Prep Co.",
"address": (
"@type": "PostalAddress",
"streetAddress": "123 Main St",
"addressLocality": "Denver",
"addressRegion": "CO",
"postalCode": "80202",
"addressCountry": "US"
),
"telephone": "",
"url": "yourwebsite.com/location/denver"
✅ Additional Requirements:
Use semantic elements such as sections, headings, and address tags for location details.
Ensure users can switch locations via static links or a dropdown, but Google must be able to crawl each location page independently.
Additional SEO Considerations
✅ Meta Tags and Headings:
Unique page titles and meta descriptions for every page.
Proper heading structure using h1 and h2 for clarity.
✅ Optimize Performance and Load Speed:
Use Webflow’s native lazy loading for images.
Optimize images with next-gen formats like WebP.
Minimize unused CSS and JavaScript.
✅ Crawlability and Indexing:
Verify correct indexing with Google Search Console.
Ensure all key pages appear in XML sitemaps.
Ideal Candidate
✅ Expert Webflow developer with experience in CMS, interactions, and SEO optimization.
✅ Strong understanding of on-site SEO, including semantic HTML, structured data, crawlability, and indexing.
✅ Experience with structured data including Schema.org and JSON-LD.
✅ Ability to troubleshoot and ensure all components remain indexable.
✅ Good communicator who can suggest best UX and SEO improvements.
How to Apply
To ensure you have the right expertise, please answer the following:
1️⃣ How would you ensure the dropdown menu remains indexable by Google?
2️⃣ How would you structure the carousel so meal items are properly indexed?
3️⃣ How would you handle multiple locations to ensure they are crawlable?
4️⃣ Share examples of Webflow projects where you implemented SEO best practices.

This project is a one-time engagement, but I’m open to ongoing work for the right candidate. I will be actively reviewing applications and aim to start ASAP.
Looking forward to working with a Webflow pro! 🚀
